First Look to The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe - Review and Pricing

The new model deploys the progressive technology featured on the recently launched new generation of the C-Class to deliver an impressive coupé format that combines pure fun at the wheel with exemplary efficiency. In terms of attitude, this debuting model is tailored to a customer group aged 35 to 45 for whom professional success, love of life and a strong sense of responsibility are all important.

oss the entire Mercedes-Benz range. LED running lamps will no doubt be available on higher-end trim levels.

The most robust changes will likely be found inside the C-Class Coupe, where a new interior design will be on hand. We've seen spy shots of the coupe's new innards before, and the design mimics that of the larger E-Class range. Still, the current C-Class interior was beginning to feel a bit outdated, so any freshening is indeed welcomed.

Our spies report that powertrains will be carried over from the 2010 model, meaning we'll get the same pair of 3.0-liter and 3.5-liter V6 engines, producing 228 and 268 horsepower, respectively. Will we see a C63 AMG Coupe with the automaker's twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 (or naturally aspirated 6.2-liter mill)? Mum's the word on that one, but consider our fingers crossed.

The C-Class Coupe’s front fascia nearly mirrors its revised-for-2012 sedan sibling,

but the biggest changes occur aft of the A-pillar. Wide doors give way to an elongated tail with a gently-sloping roofline. A kink in at the end of the rear window in the beltline looks positively Bavarian and unlike anything Mercedes-Benz has ever offered.

From the rear, the look is again borrowed from the coupe with swept-back tail lamps and a faux diffuser.

Inside, the C-Class coupe diverges from the sedan by offering decidedly aggressive-looking front sports seats for both the front and rear passengers.
