The all new 2012 Kia Rio is expected to make its debut during the 2011 Geneva Motor Show scheduled this coming March. This will be the first time that consumers will be able to have a glimpse on this new Rio 2012, which is already causing much buzz in the market. According to a press release issued by Kia Motors, consumers can expect this vehicle model to hit retailers in the UK on September.
There are two versions available for the 2012 Rio: you can either pick up the small-sized 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback style. For those who opt for the 4-door sedan style, there are three trim versions to choose from – SX, LX, and the entry level version. If you want the hatchback style, then you will only be given one choice, which is the SX version.
The Rio will be offered with a range of gasoline and diesel powertrains in other markets, including a 1.1-liter diesel that only generates 85 g/km of CO2. We're most curious abou

he revamped Rio is 2 inches longer, 1 inch wider, and about a half an inch shorter than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has increased by about 3 inches, which should give backseat passengers a roomier ride.
"This new model is a big step forward. The Rio has always been successful, and with this new incarnation we have a car which is extremely attractive, that people will want to buy for its looks," said Soon-Nam Lee, Kia's director of overseas marketing.
The Korean automaker has sold more than 860,000 Rios globally since its launch in 2005.
